No! CosmicDaily works out of the box with our demo key. However, if you're experiencing rate limits, you can get your free personal API key from api.nasa.gov and add it in Settings.
Yes! CosmicDaily intelligently caches images and data. Once you've viewed an image, it's available offline. The app will show cached content when you don't have an internet connection.
On iPad, CosmicDaily uses a beautiful split-view layout. The image appears on the left, while the title, date, and explanation are displayed on the right. You can pinch to zoom directly in the split view!
iPhone: Tap the image to open fullscreen mode, then pinch to zoom or double-tap.
iPad: Pinch to zoom directly in the split view, or use the zoom controls at the bottom.
CosmicDaily follows your system settings. Go to Settings > Display & Brightness on your device to switch between light and dark modes.
1. Check your internet connection
2. Try pull-to-refresh (swipe down)
3. If you see a rate limit error, add your free NASA API key in Settings
4. Clear cache in Settings and try again
Go to Settings (gear icon) > Storage > Clear Cache. This will remove all cached images and data, freeing up space on your device.
